Lions hire Paul Perkins to join training squad and give up on RB Wes Hills

The Detroit Lions announced that they had hired runner Paul Perkins with the training team and relinquished rider Wes Hills in the same move.

Perkins, the only New York Giants star, was fourth in the league and never played a matchday as part of the Lions lineup.

Although the Lions like Perkins ‘potential, they probably did not see enough in practice, because when Tra Carson was available, they asked for it without derogations and gave him Perkins’ place on the list of 53 men.

The Lions obviously hold Perkins’ esteem after claiming it out of the exemptions last month, but he must first prove himself in the training team before being called to active training.
